Art on the Edge: Padayun Bohol


                             Bohol Opens NAM 2014

The Philippines celebrates the National Arts Month (NAM) every February since the signing of Presidential Proclamation 683 in 1991.


Bohol Philippines - The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in cooperation with Center for Culture and Art Development (CCAD) hold its opening ceremony on February 8, 2014 at Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School for this year's Bohol' Arts Month Festival. 

For 2014, PAF has taken the theme "Art on the Edge: Arts for Healing, Arts For All" , highlighting the advancement achieved in different art forms, the innovations, the modern evolution of art and the artistic creations in the peripheries. 

 "Art on the Edge is promoting the arts to the communities as arts for healing. It will be focusing on healing activities as as a result of the national calamities that wrecked the country in the past months and the massive earthquake that rocks the town of Bohol leaving ruins and causalities. Time for healing and move forward! Art on the Edge, Padayun Bohol!” said Romulo Lagare of CCAD Bohol. 
February is not only month for love birds and lovers but also month of showcasing varieties of arts and talents of every Filipinos. 
"Art is the expression of the heart." added by the Tagbilaran City Mayor, John Geesnell Baba Yap.

The Opening ceremony was successfully done with the partnership of the Bohol Master Singers lead by , Joshibiah de Juan, PMI Dancers, DCPNHS SPA dance majors and HNU Diwanag Dance Troupe.
