Achieving Better Sleep & Better Mornings with the Sleep Specialist

 Are you having a trouble sleeping? What causes it? How can you fight this problem? 

These are just some of the concerns that were given emphasis during "Better Sleep, Better Mornings", a successful event
held in the magnificence of South Palms Resort, Bohol on May 25, 2016 in coordination with Bohol Bloggers Collective headed by Ms. Jo Phillips, Uratex Philippines featuring the Sleep Specialist, Dr. Keith Aguilera, The Bohol Chronicle, and Alturas Group of Companies. 


In a press information given by the Uratex Phil., it was articulated that insufficient sleep  which is commonly  due to poor lifestyle habits is becoming a major health concern in the country today. Filipinos are having trouble sleeping which may lead to chronic diseases, leaving the individual out of focused that can resort to road accidents and occupational errors. As well as it increases probability of a person to develop depression, obesity, hypertension and diabetes. 

"Sleep is an essential part of our well-being. It allows our bodies to recover from daily activities and more importantly, it leaves our minds refreshed to gather and process information. It also affects our emotional stability and decision making" says Cherry Tan, Marketing Director of Uratex Philippines.


However, Uratex Philippines shared ways to help fight the problem to achieve a quality sleep. 

Accordingly, the World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM) has given  Commandments of Sleep Hygiene. These are as follows: 
        • Maintain a fixed sleep schedule
        •  Reduce daytime naps in 45 minutes or less
        • Avoid intake of caffeine such as those in coffee, tea, most sodas, including chocolate 6 hours before bedtime
        •  Avoid heavy, spicy  or sweets 4 hours before bedtime
        •  Exercise regularly but not before bedtime.
        • Maintain an ideal sleep temperature in a well-ventilated room
        •  Block out noise and light as possible.
        • Limit use of the bed to sleeping.
        • Finding a comfortable bedding.
